What are the class sizes for each grade? |
Our pre-school program is comprised of two classes of K3 and three classes of K4. K3 is limited to a maximum of 12 students per class, K4 is limited to 15, and K5 - 8th is limited to 25. |
Which grades have an aide in addition to the teacher? |
An aide is present in K3 through K5. |
Is the school accredited? |
| Are the teachers required to maintain accredidation? |
St. John School is accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference (WWW.FLACATHCONF.ORG). Each teacher is required to maintain his/her teaching certificate through the state of Georgia. |
Do you have to be Catholic to attend? |
No. We are predominately Catholic, but children of all faiths are welcome. Mass is celebrated as a school community on a weekly basis. Families of our students are always invited to join us. |
What are the school hours? |
The pre-school hours are 8:10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Monday through Friday. A child may be brought as early as 7:45 A.M., as teacher supervision is available at this time. Students in Kindergarten through eighth grade are to be at school from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. |
What is the uniform policy? What is the approximate cost per uniform? |
Each child from Kindergarten to eighth grade is required to wear a uniform, in accordance to the uniform dress code. The average cost of the uniform is $50.00. |
What other courses besides the basic academic core are offered? |
Library skills, computer instruction, music, art, and physical education are part of our curriculum. Spanish will be taught in K5-8th. |
What does St. John School have to offer that is not available in the Public School System? |
Your child will receive excellence in education and spiritual development within the framework of the tradition of the Catholic Church. Unlike public education, St. John offers a moral code, a value system, and faith formation as an integral part of each child's education, thus addressing the whole child. |
What are the extracurricular activities available? |
Students may participate in string instrument instruction, band, choir, basketball, soccer and cheerleading leagues. There are also active Brownies, Girl Scout, Cub and Boy Scout troops, and the Beta Club. |
